Dining in darkness
We have just been informed that
this business has closed and a more conventional normal cafe is now
run on the same premises, but for the sake of its entertainment value
we'll keep this info up.

Diners enjoying their meal at 'The Dark Side of 604' in Melbourne
Dining in the dark started in Zurich in 1999 and has spread
to Germany, France, the US and now Australia. Because you temporarily
lose one sense, your eyesight, it enhances your taste and smell senses.
The choosing and ordering happens in the illuminated foyer and you are
then led into the eating area by a waiter wearing infra-red goggles.
Mobile phones, smoking, torches, matches, cigarette lighters and luminous
watches are banned. People that need a toilet are escorted by a waiter
to another part of the building which is lit.
