Backpackers By The Bay

Located 400 metres from the main street, on the top of a small hill, Backpackers By The Bay has awesome ocean views and a relatively quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Accommodation is available in four share rooms, twins and doubles. Linen is provided and all rooms are serviced daily. The hostel has a saltwater swimming pool which is surrounded by hammocks, sun-lounges and palm trees as well as a huge sunbaking deck. A fully equipped kitchen with crockery, cutlery and utensils is provided, as is a laundry. The games room has internet access, a phone for imcoming calls, a fax machine, pool table and pinball machine. Each night, during 'happy hour' the staff hold social activities to help guests meet each other - these include team trivia competitions with the winners receiving a bottle of champagne. Guests arriving by coach are met at the transit centre by a courtesy bus, while off-street parking is provided for those guests arriving by car. Welcome to Reefo's Backpacker Resort, situated at the entrance to Airlie Beach close to shops and the Marina.
We provide a range of accommodation styles from dorm rooms, double and twin rooms, and even fully-contained family rooms. All accommodation styles are individual cabins set amid a lush, tropical rainforest backdrop. We offer over 50 cabins within easy access to shops, cafés, restaurants, beaches, and the marina.
We have a unique 24-hour reception where guests can check in and out anytime of the day.
Reef O's offers a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, an ideal place to stay before and after a Whitsunday Cruise. But don't worry, there are a lot of things you can do during your stay at Reef O's. The resort boasts of recreational facilities including a licensed bar and restaurant, barbeque equipment, a 20-metre swimming pool and tour desk. Secure storage lockers, parking space, shops, internet access, guest laundry and shop and free entertainment with a great party atmosphere every night.

Daydream Island Resort & Spa is the closest of the Whitsunday Islands to Shute Harbour, just 5 km from the mainland.
Mermaids is a beachside a La Carte restaurant, Waterfalls is a buffet style restaurant and Castaways is a tavern offering a snack menu. There are also 3 bars. The resort also boasts 3 swimming pools and spas, dive centre. Just one and a half kilometers long, Daydream Island is very popular with day-trippers.
